i bought a 60$ obd2 immo drive box from ebay, it worked to disable the immo, the lights flash on the dash but a 2ct piece of black tape took care of those, sure beats 200$ for a key or a "chip tune"
Hi There
I have has a 2002 Beetle for a year (in which time I've pretty much replaced the engine and have only one problem left)
For the last 6 months I have had the problem where the immobliser light doesn't go off the first time I put the key in then wait a few seconds and try again ( every time I start the car) in the past couple of weeks its been happening for a whole day at a time so haven't been able to drive it
I took it to a VW Dealership and they wanted ÂŁ1300 to replace the reader coil and dashclocks (I only paid ÂŁ2000 for the car)
I have replaced the battery in the car and in the key but the problem persists
I have just purchased an obd2 immo drive box after reading on this forum and after watching a guy use one successfully on youtube also
When it arrives do I literally just plug it in and flick the switch to off to disable the immobiliser permanently?
Also if you could describe how you got rid of the flashing light that would be much appreciated
Thank you!!
