Hi guys/gals.

Now this is a repost of my original topic as Chitty didn't find my desktop suitable for an open forum. No it wasn't pornographic.

So how are your desktops looking, do you have suitable images you can post?

This is my Vista laptop desktop.

Happy New Year. ;)

I can't believe you're using vista, I'd have thought you'd be on windows 7. Anyway I'm using the standard landscape slideshow desktop on windows 7 with no icons.:)

I'm not much on Vista but thats what come with the laptop. I have Win7 but I don't like that even more. I have WinXP on my desktop which I put up with and WinME on my spare desktop computer.

The selling of Windows has always been from the start its compatibility with each Windows system that disappears with every version made after WinXP. On Win7 you can't run any 16bit apps why do you think that a dual boot system is very popular today? With Win7 you can't the show desktop quicklauch you have to right-click on the taskbar and select show desktop what a load of S**t. I know you can pin certain apps to the taskbar but that doesn't overcome this problem.

As we have found on here there is compatibility problems between 32bit and 64bit Windows. You are all just under M$ sales bull it must be newer so it must be better. Come back Win98SE all is forgiven. ;)

Personally I get on great with windows 7 64bit, far better than vista but I think xp is a lot better for running music programs etc. To show the desktop, I either hit the desktop buttom on my keyboard or you can put the mouse pointer down to the bottom right hand corner, next to the time and it shows the desktop. There's a funny little transparent button. I think it really depends on what you do with your comp though, which operating system you use. As for your laptop, if it's anything like my mates, it's a pain in the root to get windows xp installed because of having to find the right drivers which have to be slip streamed onto the xp disc so that they load first. Bollox to that.:)

Well I tried to install WinXP on it but it couldn't find the hard drive because its SATA. My desktop is SATA and it goes on there without a problem. I need to load special SATA drivers in the initial setup but I haven't bothered. ;)
