Hello everyone,

My VW Bora SE TDI 115 is due a service, and I'm confused about which oild to put in. Its done 151,000 miles, and I do around 140 miles a day. I've heard that some oils offer better protection, others better fuel economy, and some are crap! After some hunting on the net, I came accross 'Castrol GTX High Mileage Oil 15 W40' - any good?

Whats would you suggest to be the best oil for my car?

Thanks in advance.

JJ.

PS: its a 51 plate (2001)

Castrol GTX diesel would work better. GTX high mileage is something different.

VW 505.00, API CI-4, API CH-4, or API CG-4 all can be used. In general, use synthetic oil that is approved for diesel engines.

I have been running Shell Rotolla 15-40 for diesels for over 200000 and it works great.
