Hi all, I am in Australia with an imported Audi 1.9 as they did not release the B6 with that engine here.

I am trying to track down which compressor I need to replace my dead one and it is no easy task, the vin comes up useless with any Australian search functions.

So I need to I.D which compressor belongs to my car so that I can get a second hand one off a locally released car with the same motor.

Any suggestions welcome.

The compressor should have a tag on it.

Do you know for certain the compressor is bad? These tend to get sticking valves (name eludes me at the moment); many have been reanimated by smacking the back of the compressor (where the valve is) when running and switched on (obviously one needs to be careful!). The other commit issue is the clutch (these can usually be changed in-vehicle).

Thanks for that info, I also seem to have the economy light stuck on, I believe that means something too.
But i am told it leaks from the compressor and the condenser so I want to replace both. Cheers.
