I am going to check my BRM's cam shaft and I need to know what kind of gasket maker I might need. Would Permatex Blue RTV Silicone Gasket Maker work? They also have "Ultra Blue Multipropose RTV Silicone Gasket Maker" and "High-Temp Red RTV Silicone Gasket Maker". Sensor safe? Would any of these work?

Thanks!:thumbsup

Oh, and how strict is the 7 ft/lbs of torque? Will the car disintegrate in a massive fireball if I go to 8 ft/lbs? :D

Any of those will work. But I suggest using a non hardening gasket maker like ultra gray. The other stuff will stick to the gaskets and need to be scraped away later. The non hardening stuff can be wiped away which is similar to the OEM stuff.

Aluminum head :) The tendency is to overtorque small fasteners and undertorque large fasteners so just don't kill it.
