2006 5 speed

I had to change my wife's 5th gear in her 2006 TDI bug.

It looks like there are some bearings missing in the shaft for the small gear. Look at this and tell me it doesnt look funny....

Also, I need the needle bearing for the bigger gear. Know where to get one?

Thanks guys.

I did a search on google for VW Trans bearings and no luck.

Any of you guys know where to get good quality bearings for a 2006 TDI Bug?

The ones I need are for the 5th gear, when I pulled the bad one, all the needles fell out and I think they are supposed to be contained somehow, or am I wrong?

How do you replace that?

I found the part# for the 5th gear needle bearing, the one I found is 02A311265D, is that wrong?

And the small one in the picture I posted, how do I change that? It looks to be pressed in, so I would have to split the case and press it out?

I think that would be a bit over my head, but will see I guess.

I could be wrong so here is what I see. Also, the big bearing looks like it's 021 311 123 e.

Your trans code is EGS but you should be able to use a Jetta or Golf trans. I don't know if the cruise control will work.
