.....with the Blue 'I'

Not available in UK but price is $22.62 with a well known US based online company but they want to charge another $32.95 to ship...
Must be a cheaper way surely, its not a heavy item, just a three letter badge !!!

Unfortunately, international shipping is expensive unless you do "at your own risk" shipping. The company probably doesn't want to do that so you're stuck with high shipping. If UK dealers are like US dealers, they can't even order it since it's not in their system.

Try taking some blue touch up paint to paint it. First clean it with rubbing alcohol, mask the area around the "I", and paint it. If it doesn't hold up well, lightly sand the letter to make the paint stick better.
Thanks for the advice guys...
I would like, if possible, to get a OEM badge from a US dealer who is prepared to send to me, at my risk, rather than pay $32.95 ( standard postage charge ) that ECS require on top of the price of the TDI badge otherwise its a cost of $55/£36.
Surely saving $50 is worth taping it off and painting? It's not that hard and it's hard to find someone who will send you something at your risk because paypal and other shippers don't work like that. The sender is almost always responsible for delivery.
I hear what you're saying but I'm a bit of a fussy enthusiast & I would know its a touch up paint job ! and it wouldn't be the same as the OEM letter which has a chrome/silver outline in which the 'blue' is set.
I'd rather pursue the real article & will continue to try & track one down at a reasonable cost....
If all fails I'm in Seattle later this year.

I could get one for you and mail it out if you like? I get discounts from the local Audi VW dealer here because I order a lot of parts.

If your interested send me a PM or email me through my profile on here...

FYI, if you post an email address in an open forum it can get picked up by spambots. If you want people to contact you by email just make sure your "send email to "xxx"" option is active and visible. The default setting is yes so unless you changed it (which you didn't) I suggest telling people to click on your profile to get your email address. Profile pages are different in that they don't directly list your email.

Another way to protect your email is to have it in a picture which can be easily read by a person but not by a machine, like this:

Thanks for the spam bot info! I didn't know they could pick up emails that way :/

Time for me to make an uber cool email image as you mentioned.
Thanks for your offer quailallstar.
I have e-mailed you.
Tried a PM but wasn't accepted.

Marketing reason for the "blue" i in TDi?

Does anyone know why the "i" in TDi is blue? Is this the same for both Audi and VW? Is there an association with the word "blue" in Bluetec used on recent Cummins powered Dodge trucks and late model Mercedes-Benz automobiles?
Because they are clean diesels? I think they were thinking about calling them bluetecs but then they split and I guess they already made the stickers?

The clean TDI's DO NOT have Bluetec urea additive injected into the engines. The BMW 335d however does along with some Mercedes models.

Volkswagen calls its "green" cars in Europe Bluemotion and the technologies that fall under that Bluemotion tech umbrella are the following:

The VW's in the USA are not marketed as Bluemotion or anything blue. Just "Clean Diesel" because of the dirty perception Americans associate of when they think of the word Diesel.

Blue "I" TDI Badge

Bought mine here:

I, then, put it on a grille mount and put it on the lower grille of my car.
