I've been look for a clean Touareg or maybe Q7.
Seem to be lot of cars on market, many in the 70-120k mile range.
However since I want air suspension, pickings are fewer.

My question for the experts here: What can I as an decent DIYer ( but not a diesel guy yet) check to assess health of engine? I can borrow Vagcom unit... Alternately, what should I ask a pro to check?

I've read about carbon build up, and since am in an urban area many cars likely to have done short trip driving. What should look for to assure clean internals?
Other specifics to check on engine?

I've looked in the buying guide wiki here and didn't find help.
If this has been covered before, a link to posts much appreciated!

If there are some tips, I'll be glad to assemble into a post for the buying guide section, if members think would be useful.
