I've read about DMF failures, I don't want it to happen to me! The part number was updated, 03G105266AP was superseded by 03G105266BE. Do all new TDIs have the newer flywheel or was there a change in the build date?

Maybe, autos never had a Dual Mass Flywheel but all manual and DSG did. IMO, if you already have a TDI, just drive it until something is wrong or you need to replace the clutch and flywheel. Then change it out. It's not worth it to tear everything out just to replace something that might not be broken. The first part number replaced the second, not sure why. They may have changed the design.

Considering the number of TDIs driving around with DMFs and the very small failure rate, I wouldn't change it out unless you are already in there.
