Hi,

I have a 2006 VW Caddy with 1.9TDI (BLS type) - 120000 miles. Very noise engine in the cam shaft area and a lot of black smoke when I push the acceleration pedal.
Could be a valve, cam shaft or turbine ?.

Any clue will be appreciated.
Thanks.

Welcome! Post moved to the mk5 technical section.

I'm not familiar with that engine but if you believe it to be a camshaft wear issue, take a look at the writeup in the FAQ section on inspecting camshaft wear on PD TDI engines.

Yes, if the turbo seal is bad and blowing oil out the exhaust it will cause lots of smoke.
Likely clogged DPF (Diesel Particle Filter). I recommend that you use a car with higher engine revolutions. I also had black smoke until I drove at high engine speeds. Now there is no smoke.
