Hi folks,
I am running propane injection in my old Beetle TDi for quite sometime now. I am happy to get 64MPG and have a power take off at traffic lights.
I have lowered my Injection quantity to 6.8, so no smoke, less NOx.
I have uploaded a video how my set up looks in the beetle.

Interesting idea. While there is very little risk of explosion from diesel, the risk is high with propane.

Propane is heavier than air and tends to just hang around wherever it's leaking, unless there's wind. It creeps around until it finds an ignition source, then boom! Ignition source can be any number of switches in your car that produce tiny little sparks you'll never see, compromised wires in a crash, or the other guy's car burning into yours.

Natural gas, or methane, is also used to fuel an ICE. Natural gas is lighter than air and quickly disperses upward when leaked.

Nitrous oxide can be used to enhance diesel performance, too.

Here's a decent read on engine degradation when using propane with diesel.
