Why does the VW driver gear site at
http://www.cmgestore.com/vw08/SkuGrpListVW08A12.asp list the item with part number 1K61178A (STORAGE TRAY $189.43)? I can't find an image for part number 1K0061178A, all I see is it is labeled as a SHELF for $22.62. I doubt they are the same thing, I don't see how one can be $160 more than the other if they are the same.

True for both www.magauto.com and www.vwdisountparts.com (I wonder if they are really the same place, their web ordering interfaces are identical).

You might want to try the www.ecstuning.com site. I tried them this morning but haven't yet received any confirmation if it is in stock or not.

I JUST picked it up on magauto for $32 shipped 5 mins ago.

That's weird I just got message from them that the item is obsolete and no longer available. That was yesterday.

Yup, www.vwdiscountparts.com canceled my order also. I looked at ecstuning.com but $32 for shipping (no cheaper option for shipping method/speed. I ordered on magauto.com for $32.62 shipped.

Edit 5 minutes later:

Canceled at www.magauto.com "We regret to inform you that the following item is currently unavailable: Volkswagen of America has put this item as discountinued."


Redit 10 minutes later:

Decided to order at www.ecstuning.com despite the steep shipping. Sixty bucks shipped is still way under the original cost. Lets see if they cancel it on me also hehe.

My order says "Product Inbound" (not sure what that's supposed to me exactly, is it inbound to me or inbound to ECS). My shipping (UPS ground) is just $16.50.

Hooray, my rear shelf storage unit (part 1K0 061 178 A) arrived in the mail today from www.ecstuning.com. I'll put it in the car tomorrow to see how it looks. I also ordered the warning triangle at the same time from them since it was also on sale for $4.95.

The warning triangle fits exactly into the front slot and thus doesn't move at all. I haven't put anything else into it yet.

The tray comes with these thin rubber pads that fit inside each of the five pockets. I put some loose change in one, my house keys in another and a ballpoint pen in yet another. I didn't notice them rolling around or making much noise (but I was driving with sunroof open and had the radio on but not too loud).
