Hi, I have the dreaded sticky VNT vanes. Our car was only doing about 2000 miles per year on short local runs but had occasional motorway runs to try and keep it clean. I'm now using it for regular runs to work - about 40 miles each way.
I tried 10k Boost Diesel Engine Power Restorer and almost no debris came out which was reassuring but it hasn't fixed anything.
I've read the excellent faqs on here but I'd like to know after I've soaked the VNT lever in penetrating oil how much force can be appled; hand only, pliers or small mole grips?
