VCDS Remote window and sunroof

Hello all,

Do you have to use VCDS to enable windows and sunroof to open and close with key remote?
or is there a way to enable this through settings in the car?

You must use VCDS. It's not a setting that you can adjust otherwise.

Yes. I think there used to be an OBD flash tool but it's more expensive after just buying the VCDS. Too bad they didn't just enable this from the factory.

Where could I get this done? I wouldn't think it would be cost effective for me to buy the computer that is needed to reprogram my remotes to open the windows and sunroof.

dealer can do it

I asked my dealer (Schmelz Countryside VW in Maplewood, MN)to do it, and they did. However, the service writer initially stated she didn't think it was possible. I told her I knew it was, and she got it done.
