alpha bid cable
Has this cable ever worked ??? These knock-off cables often have lousy drivers supplied with them, and getting them to communicate with the cars is often a frustrating experience...

I assume you still haven't registered the software, as it doesn't appear to work in shareware mode...

I've had this responce on some vehicles. Again which version of software are you using?

Is it a genuine Ross-Tech lead?

Does the green led light when you insert the cable into the DLC connector?

Is the ignition switched on? ;)

When I tried to install the drivers it said to download the 409.1 version. So I deleted the 1.1 version and tried VCDS lite 409.1. After I got the 409.1 installed, I tried installing the drivers for the cable again and in gave me the same message. "please download VCDS Lite version 409.1."

The cable just came in thursday

Ignition is on

when I plug the cable in to the port below the dash, the led lights green.

The cable is from alpha-bid

Ah... Vista... That's Microshaft's reincarnation of Windows-ME...

Well, since you run a Mac, you should be able to afford an authentic Ross-Tech cable...

:bowdown lol parents bought the mac two years ago
and only because they were fed up with Microsoft "stuff" to put it lightly.
I got to take it to college this year
we could afford a genuine ross tech cable if parts for the car weren't so expensive! :p

and when I said my brother has vista I mean to say windows 7. there's so many OS's that I get confused.
