I have a 2005 VW Golf tdi. How do I deal with the turbo charger assembly that is in the way? I see three allen screws and an electrical plug to remove the part I need to take the valve cover off. Are there any precautions I should take or any alternatives? I would greatly appreciate a helpful response.
Thanks! krdiesel

Then you shall get a helpful response.

First read this article, there are pics describing valve cover removal. The trick is to position the camshaft sensor teeth so that it won't catch the cover when removing it. Otherwise you'll struggle with it. The plug can be removed and if you're talking about the EGR valve, you can just unplug-remove it.

Also, post moved to mk4 section.

Is that the EGR directly above the valve cover with the two torx screws? I started to take off the three allen bolts that it (EGR) is attached to. I did not see that part directly over the valve cover in any of the pictures I've seen. Thanks for your help!
