It's probably an exhaust leak that is vibrating. Look under the car or around the back of the engine for black exhaust spray.
Turbo Noise???
Hello,
I have a 2006 Jetta TDI (BRM engine code). Recently I believe my turbo is making a strange noise. At various RPM points and ranges it sounds like there is a plastic back stuck under the care flapping/bibrating in the wind.
Not sure if this is the turbo or something else. I have alsos started noticing a diesel smell at idle that I have not noticed before. The car has 128,000 miles on it and I am the original owner.
Any help woudl be appreciated. I am not afraid to work on cars, just never have owned one with a turbo before.
