I assume you mean manual. Medium difficulty. I'd rate it 3/5. Look through the mk4 transmission writeup and see how it is. If it's auto, it's similar except it has fluid lines.

The engine support and transmission jack are required and are the only tools you might not have in your garage if you regularly DIY maintenance.
