Something for all those in snow country - watch out for traction control effects. It can lead you to a false sense of security. It helps you go from a stop but it won't do a thing to help you stop. I went to a parking lot and did some donuts - no amount of electronic control can help you if the tires don't have any grip. The best thing to do is to stay home if the roads aren't clear.

That's why I practice doing donuts. So I can get a feel for how the car will lose traction and try to recover. Call it a poor man's driving school :)

When I had an Audi Quattro, the mantra posted in its forum was a similar warning: "4 x 0 = 0" [grin].
