I know my torsion value is a bit far out but the timing belt was done by the previous keeper about 20,000 miles ago.

Its a 2004 VW Caddy van. Engine code BJB. 105bhp.

The torsion value is -3.4.

The van always seemed a bit low on power but I've since fitted a bigger turbo etc and now puts out 190 bhp.

Am I right in thinking I need to adjust the torsion value a bit. What I'm wondering is how much of an effect does it have on performance.

Many Thanks Aaron.

Sounds like you are out of spec. and that would affect power. If I recall correctly, the spec is -3 to +3 with good power at a setting of zero to +2.

I had a similar issue after a head gasket replacement. Was running at -2degrees., after setting to 0 degrees, the car flies.
What a difference.
