My '10 Golf is approaching 5k miles and I'm thinking it's about time for a tire rotation. So what is a good recommended mileage interval for tire rotations? I used to always do it when I got my oil changed, but now that oil changes are in 10k mile intervals on the new Golfs, that's probably not the best for my tires. I know driving style plays a part too, but I was thinking like around 5k - 6k miles. Any thoughts?

Also, according to the manual, VW recommends tires be rotated only front to back, and not the normal criss-crossing method. Is there a good reason for this or should I continue to criss-cross?

Thanks.
