Hello,
I'm brand new to this forum. I live in Canada and have many TDIs (1 Mk3, 2 Mk4, and now a b5.5 TDI).
I picked up this passat TDI with a blown motor (timing belt skipped) and have been doing an overhaul on it.
Changed the short block, had the head rebuilt and now I'm at re-assembly part.
Since the motor was completely apart, I've lost TDC on short block as well as head. Any tips on getting back to centre?
Also, once I do have it all setup with timing belt in place (in proper position), anything else to do before trying to start it?
What's the break-in procedure for the new block?
any help would be appreciated
