Hello -

As an owner of VW diesels since 1980 ( 1980 & 1983 Rabbit Pickups; 1986 Golf; 1997 Passat) I am about to change the timing belt on our 2009 Jetta TDI. It seems that each new VW has more complexity added to the engine. In the past I have used a home made engine support. Can anyone suggest where to purchase a engine support which will not scratch and fits correctly across the engine compartment?

Thanks for your help.

Mine works on the mk5 Jetta but it isn't a perfect fit. You will need one with the extension arms to reach the engine lift points. You can also make your own, see the mk5 2005-2006 Engine timing belt article for pics. Also, PM sent.
