20 years later from my various Sciroccos and VW still uses the same sad front control arm mount setup; bury the "nut" inside the subframe with a weld job obviously not meant for servicing. Why couldn't they simply make it an open box setup so you can slip a wrench over a REAL nut that holds the bolt in? This is the third one in as many cars that has broken the welded nut off inside the subframe. Knowing the possibility existed, I even sprayed the crap out of it with some penetrating lube long beforehand. Getting tired of performing major surgery on subframes. :mad:
