Just purchased a 2010 Jetta TDI sportswagon a couple weeks ago. Last week after it rained for the first time, water pooled to the driverside rear near the hatch soaking the ceiling cloth and dripped a significant amount of water onto the sliding trunk cover. Anyone else hear of this happening? Dealer stated that they have never seen this problem and think it is comming from a seal in the moon roof.

I haven't heard of bad seals but it's possible.

Other ideas: clogged sunroof drain line at the sunroof corner (open the sunroof and take a look, common if you park under a tree), clogged sunroof drain line exit under the bumper (very unlikely), or dislodged/damaged sunroof drain line (requires removal of the trim to repair the line or you can snake a new line through the old one).

The dealer replaced the seal that houses the electronic cords that go to the wipers and defroster. This seal is flush with the top of the car when you lift up the gate. Haven't had a problems since. Just an fyi.
