Hello,
I am Howard and I live in Montana where it is very cold. -5 F at the moment. My Jetta will not start at temps below +15 F. This is the first winter that I have owned this car and it is my first diesel. I have put in fuel addative and I allow the glow plugs to warm several times before I turn it over on cold days. Often it labors to start after about 5-10 seconds of cranking however sometimes it just goes "blagh.... I give up". I have had to jump the car several times this winter. I should also mention that there seem to be several weird electrical bugs that I just live with because the thought of paying someone to fix them scares me.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Howard
