The body kit is optional but the main difference with the standard TDI is the GLI suspension, GLI brakes, sport seats, MFSW w/paddle shifters. Interior is interlagos cloth only, no leatherette. Small stuff like alloy appearance pedals and a door sill that says cup edition.

It would seem odd to have a cup edition for 1 year and then change it for next year. While this is nice I remember hearing that there was an engine shortage because most TDI were sent to Europe where VW makes more money. So fill demand first. The price seems good though - If MSRP for a Jetta TDI manual is 22660 and this is 24990, you're paying 2330 for 18" wheels, suspension, brakes, and other bits. But I'm guessing that most will come with that hideous body kit already on it and that's another 2350 which I wouldn't pay for.

It's normal for the last year or last 2 years of a car to have special editions to spice up sales. The passats only had TDI the last 2 years of their generation production. This cup edition is a good car but it's also the last year of his body. There will probably be a new Jetta for model year 2011. $2,330 is a good price for all that stuff if you want a Jetta, too bad they didn't have at least have a Golf with GTI suspension/brakes instead of a GTD.
