I can't see the way the plug in connector is secured on the sensor. There is a slot on top of the connector & a larger slot on the side, but pulling on the connector does not allow movement & I don't want to damage anything. Does pushing a thin screwdriver in to the top slot ease removal? How do you get this connector off without damage?

It has a tab right? Stick a screwdriver before the tab and GENTLY turn it. The tab should click and release. Too much and it'll break. It may bend slightly and due to age/heat, may break. Then push the connector before pulling it off. Sometimes the hook catches. I haven't looked at the connector lately but it should be one of those, otherwise can you take a pic?
