I've been the owner of a Jetta TDI 2001 for almost 4 years, and I've learned a lot with it. It is the motivation to fix it and improve it what brought me here. Some of the planned tasks I have ( for which I'll need input from the site) are..:

Replace VNT Actuator
Clean turbo if necessary
Replace hoses
Check intercooler.
Fix an oil leak I have no idea where it is coming from

and maybe more..

Thanks.

Welcome! Is it low power?

What is wrong with the intercooler that it needs checking?

Oil leak is normally valve cover, the bottom of the EGR valve, or the breather hoses.

Unless you're like me and smack your sump off a rock:D. Hi mape1082,welcometomyturbodies. My intercooler wasn't bad but I have heard of people cleaning them out due to oil gathering over time.

thanks for your replies!

Yes its low power.. I've read it can be a bad actuator.. I know it moves but it seems stuck, very difficult to move.

The intercooler leaks and the oil is deposited in the lower part of the bumper, where it falls on to the tire, being spread. I've noticed that more in summer. A loose part may have caused a hole on it. Need to check.

I'll be checking on all of this when time allows..

Thanks a lot!
