Adjust the shifter: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/multi/shifter-adjust-VW-Audi.htm . The clutch fluid could need bleeding too. There's a TSB about the sachs clutches blowing up. With your low mileage, maybe it never had the chance to come up. IMHO, if you get a replacement clutch, go with a G60 flywheel too.
The slight pull is alignment or suspension problems. With that low mileage, unless the car jumped a curb it shouldn't have enough suspension wear to effect alignment. Or maybe the road you were driving on was really crowned?
And make sure you use only 5w-40 to avoid cam wear or at least delay it!
Tell them to reduce the price by 1600-1800 off the bat or else don't buy it
