I finally took delivery. And just like mamma use to say, good things are worth waiting for. I LOVE how everything came out.

It has the Votex (sport styling kit) with front lip spoiler, side shirts, rear roof spoiler and stainless steel exhaust extensions.

Excellent photos! Can I use it as an example of a shark blue? They really highlight the car. I can see the flaps on the side skirts for the jack stands.
oh sure. have at it.

He looks great Sportsrider! Its almost better you had to wait until Wedenesday, because there was rain on Tuesday. Your pictures would not have looked as good. Nice shots on Alki! I really like the body kit, and the spoiler! Now we have to get your Shark, Peral and Vin together for a Seattle family photo. ;) Other than mine, I have not seen any other Golf Mk6 TDIs driving on the road yet, only on a dealership lot.
Yes, we should all (Vin, Pearl and Casper) all get together for a group photo shoot. I did indeed luck out with the weather on delivery day. Do you get down south often?

I've seen on united gray 2dr here in West Seattle and a GTI also here.

Nice to see the sun over Elliott Bay! My shark blue 2-dr is supposed to be on the ship heading for San Francisco. I like your stainless tips!
:nana2:

congrats. I assume you're getting all giddy by now. You're gonna love your new car.

San Fran? I thought the only ship on the west coast came into San Diego?

Did you edit those photos or do you just have a really good camera!:thumbsup
a very pricey camera. ;) (tax write-off for my job)

So this kit is fitted at the factory or the port? Looks good!
Dealer install. As far as I am aware there are no factory installs for the Golf, but there might be Port installed in the future.

Nice ride, sportriderseattle. Did you get the dealer to do the tint, too? If so, can I ask how dark the tint and how much they wanted?

I'm still waiting on mine and was thinking I want them to do the windows as well.
yes mine was handled thru the dealer and it's the Washington state legal 35%. I've had 20% on other cars and it's just a little to dark for me. 35% is very nice.

and an ultra-wide angle interior shot. Does it remind you a bit of the brochure picture? ;)

I am taking delivery of a white 2010 Golf TDI next Tues. Interested in the body kit, poss rear spoiler first then add parts. Where can the parts be ordered? Thanks
right thru your VW part's department. your salesman should be able to get it all done for you.

I bet you're getting excited about now! ;)

How much did you pay for the paint job/installation and parts?
$2000+ for the lip spoiler, side skirts and roof spoiler and stainless exhaust tips

New grille with chrome horizontal accents added. JSW or Highline grille technically. Lower chrome accent grille on order. 3M clear bra added also.

The chrome is a little too bling for me but it's not that bad on a light car. Except for the VW symbol because it's supposed to be that way.
Though I think "Bling" is subjective I would never consider anything subtle and OEM as Bling. I have seen chrome door handles available by a 3rd party manufacture for the Golf and those I would call Bling.

This grille is both Subtle and OEM so it simply becomes a matter of taste.

Looking good.

Is that a red Pontiac Grand Am I see?:D
thanks! Unfortunately you are correct about that other car; my upstairs neighbor that seriously needs lessons on how to park a car. Arg!

sweet looking ride! I've been anxiously awaiting my Candy White 4 Dr with the Sport Styling Kit... I'm looking to do the clear bra due to my commute conditions, and am wondering where you ordered it and if it fits the front lip spoiler
My Clearbra was installed by Accutint in Seattle. They use 3M products and there is a template for the Votex front lip spoiler --- therefore everything looks OEM with no freehand cutting. It fits great despite there is a small seam in the very middle, way down low on the inside of the center cut-out.

NEW TIRES & WHEELS: Budapest 18x8 with Pirellis

Did you have top buy an entire new grille (with chrome) and lower section? Or can you just order the chrome inserts from the dealer and install them? I was thinking of doing this as well because a lot of early 2010's left the factory with the chrome sets.

Thanks!
I did buy a complete upper and lower grille. They are completely different grilles so one can not just add the chrome to the all black ones. I went thru Bud Klemp at Checkered Flag VW in Virginia...he has some great discounts to pass along.

Nice wheels Dan. Do you notice a difference in the ride with 18s vs. 17s? Your grill upgrade looks great too!....Glad we are finally having some good weather..Dan (Deej)
ya know, it may sound a bit strange, but I honestly believe it has a smoother ride with my new 18's over the stock 17's. These are a lower profile tire, 40 series, but they were specifically selected to go on a Passat...which is more of a cush riding VW than our Golfs. I was really expecting the ride quality to go in the other direction, but I am pleasantly surprised with smiles and giggles!
