Hi, i was wondering if anyone could help me .I have a 2007 TDI Toledo and on start up in the mornings i get a large plume of blue smoke . the garage has replaced the injector seals, the starter motor and cleaned out the air intake etc. it only seems to give the blue plume when the fuel tank is over the half full mark . if the car has a quarter tank it will not smoke at all. They think it could be the tandem pump now . Has anyone had this problem ? if so is there a cure.

any help would be great.

Normally a big puff of smoke on start should not change on the fuel level. Blue is usually oil, black is usually fuel. A bad tandem pump usually causes low fuel pressure.

here's my latest update for the ongoing saga that is my TDI.

The garage changed the tandem pump but the problem has gotten slightly worse.
the car is using less fuel but still gives blue smoke on start up. lots of blue smoke.

if anyone has any ideas that would be great.

many thanks.
