It sometimes is hard to get into fifth, if I wait a sec, it goes in OK. Reverse is OK, drives fine. It just is rough to get into 5th, sometimes cruches, any idea?
You could always try draining the transmission fluid and refilling it with new gear oil. Sounds like a possible syncro problem that is being made worse with old oil.
What's a good price for the dealer to change the gear oil? I know it will cost more than an independant mechanic but I want it done right. The car has about 110,000 miles.
That's okay, it's not for everyone. FYI, if you have the space, a set of tools from sears, some ramps and jack stands, jacks, and you are set. After working on your car a few times, you won't want anyone else to work on it though!
