My 2011 seems to cut out when cold. This may last about five minutes. My only suspicion is that the fuel pump may not be functioning correctly. This is a US model and I have the DSG 6-speed transmission. Even in the summer I've noticed this, worse last winter.

2011 Golf Variant (I refuse to call it a Jetta).

Thanks,
Ken in Missouri

When cold as in winter or cold as in before the engine warms up? Every time? Yes, that could be a possibility but makes sure you lodge the complaint so it's on the record.

We have a similar intermittent problem. Sometimes it'll quit right after startup, other times it just runs rough for about 5 secs right after startup. I'm not concerned enough to take it in between oil changes for the issue, seeing as we only have 16k miles.

when you guys say "quit" or "cut out" do you mean totally dies and you have to restart it, or is it a hesitation/miss?

If its a Jetta call it a Jetta as a Golf is a different model.

Please add Jetta to your car spec?
