I have a 2006 Jetta TDI .
The problem is the drivers window rolls up backwards You push the button down and it goes up. You lift the button and it goes down. All the other windows operate correctly. Any ideas whats wrong?

LOL, poltergeist? Post moved to mk5 section since it's specific to those models.

Could the switch be broken? Maybe.

I replaced the window switch and harness. Did have broken wires.

Where were the broken wires? In the window switch? Does it work now?

No it did not fix it. It just works backwards. All the other windows work correctly.

Did you fit a new switch or was it like that when you got it? Could it be the wrong switch for your car?

I bought the car new and it worked fine Last fall the window stopped working.Went to dealer and they diagnosed it with broken wiring harness. They repaired it (one wire) and the window has not worked the same ever since. They called me and asked if it always worked like this (no) So I replaced the switch, it and that didn't change the operation. Then I changed the wiring harness and still no change.

Someone must have hooked up something wrong or there is some problem with the door wiring harness. You say you replaced the entire door wiring harness twice?

VW dealer repaired harness once and replaced harness ( new) myself.
