Hi I'm a new member.

2005 vw passat 2 lt diesel

I would like to find the procedure for setting up the balance shaft / oil pump assembly timing and the correct adjustment of the gear meshing.

Hi Chitty... I am in the middle of the balance shaft delete procedure, installing the ALH pump, spocket and chain... I have only found the part 2 of your original procedure where you give both the gear driven and balance shaft delete procedures. (The wikis from the DYI page you carefully crafted that are broken is a real downer since the site 'upgrade' recently.) Regarding the tensioner, both old and new.. is the old tensioner assy where the arms were attached/housed reused at all? This is OEM part number 03G 115 124. It seems that the pics and snippits of info regarding the new tentioner show it bolted directly to the face of the block. Any help you can give would be appreciated.
