Hi, I,m Adam. I live in Switzerland but own an English Passat. It's a 2006 2.0 tdi 6 speed manual. It's new to me but I bought it with high mileage but a full VW service history, Passat's go for ever don't? It drives great in first 3 gears but when you ask it to work hard, 3500rpm plus in 4th it clicks into limp home like someone just removed the turbo. A service computer reads the codes as pressure over boost and the car resets it's self as soon as I turn the the ignition off and on. It's more of a problem on the highway in 6th, when it goes to limp home as soon as it sees a hill at only about 3000rpm. It still resets but is a bit exciting up hill on a highway with no power! I've read some of your facts and obviously I have to work down the list checking things. How different are the 2006 engines to the older ones?
