hey, I'm new,
I was just driving over to the pet store for dog food and my accessory belt broke on my 2005 passat tdi. I am going to be doing the work next weekend. Right now I am wondering if I should just replace the belts or do I need to look into the tensioner. The belts had been squeeky (my previous cars have been saturns and for me the belts from the day I bought them always squeeked some, so I just thought that was normal. I'd checked the belt and spray with a belt lube and the problem would go away. actually just checked the belt last weekend.) so, I guess the question is do I need to change the tensioner now, or can I put a new belt on and see how it goes and if I still have some signs of problems to change the tensioner?
