I looked over the part numbers and can confirm that the oil pan and oil dipstick are the same if you have the CATA engine. There are some other engine codes coming up but I'm pretty sure that the 2011 VW Touareg TDI in the US still uses the CATA engine because it does not have start/stop that the Euro models do and therefore doesn't need the small modifications, but this is just a guess.

If you wish to retrofit the oil dipstick on the TDI engine here are the part numbers.

The dipstick tube is 059 115 630 aa (059115630aa) and is the same on 2010 and 2011.
The 2 piece oil pan is 059 103 602 f (059103602f) and 059103603q (059 103 603 q) if you have a CATA TDI engine or 059 103 603 ap (059103603ap) if you don't have the CATA.

The dipstick is 059 115 611 aa (059115611aa). There's an oil seal: n 908 138 02 (n90813802) but I don't see why you can't just reuse the existing seal on the oil dipstick plug.

As mentioned in this thread: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/forum/f20/2011-vw-touareg-tdi-has-electronic-dipstick-confirmed-4209/ , the VW Touareg has an electronic dipstick and while it should be reliable, at least you have the option to retrofit a physical dipstick.

The first thing I did was put a dipstick in our 2011 Touareg TDI. All you need is to order the dipstick - it was about $15, remove the plastic plug in the top end of the dipstick tube which is factory installed on the engine, insert stick and you are in business.

The dipstick and ultrasonic electronic sensor does not quite agree, the electronic sensor reads higher at the lower level, the dip stick higher at the upper end.
