Oil Changing etc...

1590 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Vorch
I know this has been discussed elsewhere, but not for the Mk6 TDI.

I have 3000miles on my TDI so far and am thinking about changing the oil.

1) should I so soon?
2) where should I buy the filter/oil - I assume 507?
3) where can I learn how to?

any help would be most appreciated.

p.s. love my TDI....

No because long life oil needs time to work because it's designed for long life and changing it early won't do much. I saw a post with a writeup here and I'll bet the mk6 is no different because they share the same engine.
Yes, 507 oil is what you want. If you google the part number you should be able to find the best price. Here's the writeup from the FAQ: http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q_how_to/8p/A3oilchange.htm
