In the throes of replacing the instrument cluster on my son's 2002 Jetta (non-working speedo, odo, gas gauge), and ran into the infamous immobilizer issue.

It is a MK4 with Immo 3, and I just got off the phone with the local dealer and ... well that's just nuts ...

OK, so what I need is:

1. figure out how to get the SKC so I can install the new cluster and actually get the car to start.

2. (separate issue), I need to get a new switchblade key/remote for the car

Would appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks.

Thanks, Buggy ....

OK, what ver of Vag-Tacho do I need, and is the .exe part of the deal? They don't ever state that the program comes with the cable.

Also, the replacement instrument cluster I bought online has instructions for inputting the SKC (once known) into the new cluster using the odometer buttons in a specific sequence - will that not work?

Also, if I do need a VCDS cable, is that all I need or do I need software for that as well?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to figure out what I am taking on.

Thanks again.
