In a bit of a dwang. Car keys and smart key(remote) has been stolen. I do have a spare set of keys but have misplaced the smart key(remote). How would I be able to get the beast going again. Is there any way to overide the immobilizer and get the car started to get it to a dealer or sort it out myself?

No i dont have the SKC yet. I have seen it posted on one of your foums. Is there any chance that you can send me a pm to guide where i can locate it as this is sensitive info. I am currently in the UAE and the car in SA so i am getting as much info as i can before i get to it so that i dont waste any time. The key will only unlock the door manually(batt been disconected). When turning the ignition on the car will not start and the alarm will sound. To clear this you have to overide it with the remote.

Nobody can get the SKC unless they're sitting in your car getting it. If the car doesn't start it's not an immobilizer problem, if the alarm sounds, it means the alarm is having a problem. That's why you can't start the car. They are separate systems.

When i get to SA i will go and look for the SKC. I need to know where it sits(location wise) and how much trouble it will be to get to. At least I know now what it looks like and what to look for.

Sorry i stand to correct myself. Been a while since i drove the car. It will start but the alarm will be activated.

Another question. When i do have the SKC code, do i just buy new remotes from a vw dealer and they will recode them only, or does the car also have to be present at the dealer for coding?
