HI everyone first let me say what a fantastic bunch you are so much valuable info available , Ive just got back into the vw game by buying a 2007/07 plate Jetta 2.0TDI BKD engine its brilliant cant believe how much I have missed the refinements of the vw , reading the site about why my car at high spped goes into limp mode got it booked in for a code read first and then go from there was reading the article on vnt turbo vane cleaning if it isnt this what other common faults can cause these symptoms any help or advice really apreciated :bowdown

Bad news

Hi all, well just got back from Clive Atthowe Tuning in Norwich Norfolk top bloke for info ect and i have code P0234 which basically is overboost cannot be cured so a new turbo needed :panic: , he doesnt believe in fitting recon units as they will fail in a shorter distance and not worth cleaning pointless excercise , so he recommended a New turbo , got a price from German and Swedish £705 plus vat brand new jaw drops just for turbo not fitted he roughly quoted £1200 plus for turbo and fitting not good , if anyone knows where else to get a price for a new turbo im all ears

It could be the VNT actuator. However, VW doesn't sell these separately but you may be able to mod one on. It could also be sticky vanes. A new turbo should fix it but have you also looked at the innotec turbo cleaning kit? They are UK based. Worst case it doesn't work.

update

Well my car has gone back to the garage I bought it from today and they are going to use the Innotec turbo cleaner first to see if it frees the sticky vanes at there cost , if that doent cure it they are going to stick a reconditioned turbo on it for me again at there cost :D well pleased as been quoted £1200 for this . I will report back as to what effect the turbo cleaner has and if it cures it ( they have lent me a crappy under powered hyundai 1.somthing uhhhh bloody horrible car ) I cant wait to get my vw back roll on monday .

update INNOTEC TURBO CLEANER WORKS

Hi all thought I would update you, finally had my cars turbo cleaned with innotec turbo cleaner £39.95 , what a fantastic product this is , the muck that came out quote from garage was unbelieveable cant believe it , im 300 miles in and no limp mode problems at all excelleration is superb will give it another clean in another 4000 miles thank goodness i dont need a turbo. so if you are in any doubts about this product try this stuff first before you buy a turbo :D
