Hey, new to the forum. I drive too much, bought an 04 golf tdi with 50,000mi in October, already approaching 75,000. Figured I would start getting knowledgeable about a timing belt. Glad there is so much support around!

Welcome! That is pretty low mileage for the year. Make sure you're using good oil to help prevent or delay camshaft problems, check out the FAQ for more on this problem. The BEW engine has a less aggre4ssive cam so it's not as common as the later BRM engine but still happens. Other than that there aren't too many common problems with the 04s.

Hey, thanks! Good deal, I will do that. Yeah the low mileage was a lucky find. Love it though.
