The other site is an older tdi forum. The reason I started my own site was because I didn't like how things were run over there. The community is larger but very disorganized. All I'll say is that the site's info is extremely out of date to the point of some of it having been discredited as harmful. One example is the recommendation of the K&N air filter which have a strong link to MAF failures in TDI. The MAF sensor is very sensitive and they fail on their own too. Their forum members have often complained but it never gets updated. Most of their links page is broken as well, the last update was 10 years ago.

But you can't help something that doesn't want help so all I can do is work very hard on this site through quality info, a friendly community, and frequent content and infrastructure updates so thanks for spreading the word!

No, I was never part of that site. I have only been a poster. They need more moderators and I've seen posts where long term members have asked but no result. I don't know why but the point is that they need organization. I sink big hours into this site so I can understand that it's not easy but there is a need. There is some quality info on that site but it sinks into the archives because there isn't any manager who organizes the info. I'd like to think that this site provides that alternative and valuable yet free resource - it's easier to read a summary than 100s of pages of info or not read old and discredited info.
