Hi, this is my first post, however I have been using this site for a long time as a resource when performing work on my 2006 Jetta TDI 5 speed. It all started when I was nearing the 100k mile marker and needing a timming belt job done. I called around and the stealer dealers wanted $1400 plus tax to do the job, not to mention that I would have to drive 4 hrs to get there. I found a complete kit on ebay with a metal water pump for $249, bought some of the special cam locks, and did the timming belt job myself. I really only spent about 8 hrs on it. I also installed a Diesel Geek skidplate which is awsome. A few weekends ago I did the brakes, flushed the clutch and brakes (watch the bleeder because it will crack). THis weekend I'm changing the tran fluid and installing a Frost Heater. Some time in the future I think I'm going to replace/upgrade all the shocks and struts.
Thanks, Brendan
