Hi;

Will keep you posted about my latest TDI adventure
had a timing belt snap and now have the head off and I'm looking at a few damaged valves but bottom end looks good. If any of you have any tips I would surely appreciate them now. I did browse your "How to section" there are really neat articles. I'll keep you posted about my progress this is my first time taking the head off of a diesel.:panic:

I think checking all the pistons are of the same height might be an idea, unlikely to have damaged a rod but better to be sure, the other thing is the guides in the head for the valves, be careful they're not cracked or anything in case they become a problem later and also the lifters, make sure they're ok too.:)

So far 6 lifters damaged one bent valve for sure will know more ounce I take them all out... more info to follow....
