Hello all, I'm new to the forum but had various diesels since 1986. Started in the UK with a 1958 SER II Landrover fitted with a BMC 3.8ltr 4/60 normally aspirated engine. Not a rocket ship but could it ever pull! Then a ford escort 1.6ltr, peugeot 309 1.9ltr, and my first TD was an Astra with a Isuzu 1.7 tdi.
After a bunch more different diesels moved to the States and did not have a diesel for seven years until I got a 2005 VW Passat. She now has 100K miles on her and little things are starting to rear their ugly head. She has no mods except for the alloy wheels of my old A4 quattro.
So here I am, will probably have a few questions in the near future as I try a bit of DIY to put her back to where everything works. Hope I did not bore you to sleep Thanks, David.

No, the Passats have plenty of exciting problems that will keep you up! :D

Check out the new buying guide for the b5 Passat for some common problems these cars have. There is some maintenance and preventative maintenance you will need soon.welcometomyturbodies
