Hello all,

I recently purchased a 2000 VW Golf TDI that I am enjoying very much. That is, except for one thing, the key that came with the car did not work, previous owner said it went through the wash. So I ended up picking up a new key on eBay and decided to swap the key over, along with the immobilizer and reprogram the keyfob. All was well until I broke the immobilizer chip. I have a VAG-COM and a decent amount of knowledge about these cars, but now just looking for an answer on how to disable the immobilizer for the time being as there is no way in hell I'm paying the dealer for a brand new key.

Hope you guys have some answers for me!

Thanks,
Roman

You would have to know the SKC number to get around it. See the immo FAQ for the temp bypass procedure and how to get the SKC. I've never actually tried it since I've never had this problem, if the temp bypass works, please post a follow up, thanks!
