Where does the other AM remote come from?
What matters is the FCC part number and immobilizer generation. If the FCC part number is the same the remote half will work.
Going off your part number, it looks like your car has immobilizer 3. Look through this FAQ to check if you have immo2 or 3. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/multi/immo-2-vw-audi.htm
If you have immo 3 you must use new switchblades because the chip can only be set to 1 car. If you have immo 2 you can use used switchblades. Again, the switchblade half is separate from the remote half.
